Recyclable Foam Packaging

“Reduce, reuse, recycle” are not just words thrown around by environmentally conscious consumers. Today they are making demands from businesses to create more sustainable products, in environmentally friendly ways and packaged with recyclable or biodegradable materials.

Cutting down waste sent to landfills is increasingly becoming more of a concern for consumers and businesses need to adapt accordingly. Eliminating packaging may not be a practical solution to the landfill problem, but using recyclable foam packaging can be a responsible alternative.

Foam for Recycling

Polyformes currently offers recyclable foam products which include ARPLANK, Ethafoam and Stratocell, to fill the growing demand for recyclable foam packaging.

ARPLANK

Made from 25% recycled material, ARPLANK is 100% recyclable. Exclusively distributed in the UK by Polyformes, ARPLANK is lightweight but very effective at shock absorption. It is made from expanded polyethylene (EPE) and is stable from temperatures of -60ºc to 100ºc. Available in three densities, ARPLANK is suitable for packaging, cushioning, floatation, thermal management and more.

Ethafoam 

Ethafoam is ideal for protecting fragile items as it can handle repeated shocks and impacts. When cut to the specific shape and size, it provides cushioning and protection to items during shipping and storage. Resilient, flexible and durable, Ethafoam is a closed-cell polyethylene foam made with a minimum of 65% recycled resin content foam. Chemical and water-resistant, Ethafoam is most suitable for applications that require shock absorption, vibration dampening, insulation, barrier or buoyancy components, and damage protection. It has been used in the automotive, recycling, electronics, healthcare, marine and leisure industries.

Stratocell

Stratocell is a low cost, lightweight, closed-cell polyethylene foam and is ideal for packaging that requires interior cushioning protection. It is best suited for customers who require a thick product with excellent protection as this foam is available in thicknesses ranging from 1” to 8”.

Stratocell is flexible and can be used with anti-static, accordion and hinged designs. It can also be reused multiple times without compromising the integrity of its protective qualities. Application of Stratocell foam products include theatre, medical, recycling and packaging.
