| Water-Jet Cutting |
|
At Polyformes we water-jet and die-cut foam inserts and shapes. This process is for 2 dimensional foam items whereby the water jet or the die-cutting blade will go right through the foam material. Both of these processes can be modified so that the blades don't cut right through in all instances. Thus, for example, with a foam end cap, parts can be perforated so the inner can be folded back to create the back bar of the cap. This saves material and cost as well as time and ease of use. The water-jet heads can be angled to allow for bevelled parts.
We are able to cut through all of the foam materials - Plastazote, Ethafoam, Stratocell etc, at all densities. With large-bed presses and a 5 metre long water table, size is not an issue.
