| Thermoforming |
|
Thermoformed or moulded foam parts are usually a result of the foam sheet or pad being heated through and then shaped by means of a variety of tooling within a range of machines whether a cold tool press or vacuum formed etc. Tooling costs for moulded foam parts vary depending on the size and/or complexity of the required finished parts. For a one sided natural blend radius tool for a small to medium size item, costs can be as low as £35.00. Costs for finished foam units depend upon final volume requirements – sometimes prices work out lower by paying for a multi-gang tool and producing the tool multiple quantity per impression, rather than one piece at a time. |
