Carnival costumes, Cosplay, foam armour and foam weapons, LARP

Many carnivals around the world have utilised Plastazote closed cell foam when making colourful and flamboyant costumes. You will see much Plastazote at our very own Notting Hill Carnival every year. Cosplay (costume play) and LARP (live action role play) are large users of the polyethylene foam for foam armour, foam weapons and complete costumes, many of which really are works of art in their own right. The foam has the mechanical strength to appear realistic yet is lightweight and safe to use. For real afficiandos and costume companies, as well as being easily cut and shaped, the foam can be thermoformed at relatively low temperatures, and even moulded 'direct to body'.
