Microcellular Batch Foams
Microcellular foams are chemically cross-linked closed cell batch foams with a superfine cell structure across the standard grades. Coarser cell grades can be produced where required. The polyolefin foam is produced in 'bun' form or block sheet at a standard 2000x1000mm size up to 105mm thick as standard though less thick at the higher densities. This material can be fabricated and processed into thicker blocks by heat lamination in order to produce larger finished products.
The nominal density range of these microcellular foams, known as PE or XPE for high quality polyethylene and CO or XVA for ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer foams, is 25kg/m3 to 300kg/m3 and can be supplied in a range of colours including black, white, anthracite, grey, red, yellow, green and blue. Other colours can be made to order subject to requirement. Flame retardant and anti-static varieties can also be supplied. The microcellular foams are highly energy absorbent, have low water absorption properties, good thermal insulating properties, good weathering, generally chemically inert with good thermoforming properties. With very good physical properties, here at Polyformes, we convert the microcellular foams into a wide range of products across the whole spectrum of industry sectors.
