Polyformes core business is the conversion and supply of closed cell polyethylene foams. There are several makes of these foams and they can be manufactured in their raw block form in several ways. We stock four main makes of pe foam –the Azote range, the Ethafoam and Stratocell ranges and the PE and CO Microlen ranges. Within these makes are various grades, densities, colours and specialities to suit every possible requirement.
Azote foams are made in the UK and shipped all across the globe which is a testament to the high regard in which these foam materials are held. Amazingly versatile because of their unique method of manufacture and available in a large range of colours and densities.
Dow Chemical sold the Ethafoam side of their business to the Sealed Air Corporation who have continued to produce this reliable cushioning foam which, again, is used across the world as a true cushion packaging and insulation medium.
Stratocell – non cross linked extruded polyethylene foam
Stratocell is everyone's favourite low cost packing foam. It is easy to cut and shape and will withstand transit rigours within a carton to protect equipment and reduce damages without costing the earth.
Microlen PE & CO & other microcellular batch foams
Microlen PE and CO foams come in a range of colours and densities and are made in thicker sheet/block form than most of the other pe foams as a rule though all of the makes of foam can be laminated to any required thickness.
