08/12/2011 - POLYFORMES CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY CLOSURES – ORDER NOW TO ENSURE DELIVERY OF PLASTAZOTE FOAMS AND EXPLORER CASES
Polyformes, foam converters of Stratocell, Plastazote and Ethafoam flexible foams, will be closing on Friday 23rd December 13:00 hours and re-opening on Tuesday 3rd January at 08:30 hours. Last day of despatch for foam sheets and products will depend on your own closure dates and the carrier delivery schedules, though if you wish to collect, please ensure this is by 11:00 a.m. If in doubt with regard to what can be delivered when, please do not hesitate to call us on 01525 852444.
Please order early enough to receive goods and materials if you require these before the Christmas shutdown or immediately afterwards. We will be machining foam shapes, routing and water-jet cutting Evazotes and Plastazotes up until the last minute, so rest assured, general production will only have only a minimal disruption.
During the shutdown, our turkey-filled staff will be trying to lose some of their newly acquired weight by going on long walks - around the factory, stock-taking!
We would like to thank all of our wonderful customers for continued support during the past year and hope that you will favour us with your much appreciated business in 2012.
We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. Happy Holidays from All at Polyformes.

01/08/2011 - SPECIAL NEEDS CHARITY DRIVE TO RAISE £1 MILLION
Guy Butcher from bespk.com is behind this ambitious project which is intended to raise £1,000,000 for children with special needs. Bespk are planning to make a 25,000 mile road trip in a 1930's Austin 7, travelling from New York to Tierra del Fuego. The proposed start date is March/April 2012.
The car started life as a Ruby four seater tourer. It had been bought as a wreck by a welder who had shortened the chassis to 6'3" but kept the original Girling type axles. A Chummy body made by RTC was fitted and to all intents and purposes it looked to the casual observer like a 1928 Chummy. The vehicle has been totally dismantled and all the parts cleaned prior to further detailed inspection, repair, repainting and reassembly. The intention is to reassemble the chassis engine gearbox back axle before refitting the body for reassurance that it all goes together before repainting the body and wings.
Guy's request to Polyformes was to see if we could assist with the supply of 1" thick Ethafoam to be used within the door panels as an easily cut and shaped, lightweight material, thus helping to reduce weight and fuel costs to a minimum.
Guy – it's on its way! And good luck to all at bespk.com with this project from Polyformes Ltd., the UK's favourite foam converter and specialist machinists of all grades of closed-cell expanded polyethylene foam including Plastazote, Ethafoam, Stratocell and Microlen.
