Polyformes Engineering & Design Manager, Dick Corfield celebrates 25 years at Polyformes Ltd. today and we would like to say a very big thank you, Dick, for everything you have achieved over this time. Even before he joined Polyformes, Dick was instrumental in designing products and equipment for us including the innovative bendy foam hair curlers that we made in the early 80’s for Molton Brown. He made all of the machinery that these were produced on at one time a third of the factory was taken up with custom-built machinery to produce these the demand was so great..
Dick’s engineering skills and abilities have enabled many a project to come to fruition the Nekeze hair salon sink neck protectors, Zotek high temperature self-sealing tube development for power station reflux piping, Tesco fabric and foam resilient supermarket trolley seat pads. He was instrumental in the design of the oven, element and heating section of the carousel auto-moulding machinery that we built for high volume thermoformed foam parts, and has subsequently designed the majority of the 3D tooling utilised in this process.
